About this species
Dalbergia sissoo is an accepted species in the Fabaceae family. Kew records its native range from the southern Arabian Peninsula to Myanmar and describes it as a shrub or tree of seasonally dry tropical habitats. It is commonly known as shisham, sissoo or Indian rosewood.
Sowing guide
- Soak sound seeds in room-temperature water before sowing.
- Use individual pots or a deep tray filled with an open, free-draining mix.
