Plan your sowing

Keep each packet labelled and follow its individual growing instructions. Plan separate sowings and planting positions for crops with different seasonal and space requirements.

Garden scenes show a possible future planting design. Plants develop at different rates; tree and perennial projects need their own nursery stage.

Growing conditions

An orchard and perennial garden project. Fig needs a suitable mild site or protected growing; check local hardiness of the fruit selections.

Seed-grown fruit plants can vary from the parent cultivar and are a long-term growing project.
