Plan your sowing

Keep each packet labelled and follow its individual growing instructions. Plan separate sowings and planting positions for crops with different seasonal and space requirements.

Garden scenes show a possible future planting design. Plants develop at different rates; tree and perennial projects need their own nursery stage.

Growing conditions

For a sufficiently long warm growing season. Millets, sorghum and pulses form the grain block; the vegetable block needs reliable watering.
