Pepper Biquinho White Seeds

Biquinho White is the white-ripening form of the Biquinho, the small Brazilian "little beak" pepper (Capsicum chinense, family Solanaceae). The teardrop fruit ripen creamy white instead of red or yellow and carry only a trace of heat, 500–1,000 Scoville heat units. The packet holds 5 seeds.

Fruit and plant

• Teardrop fruit 2–3 cm (0.75–1 in) long
• Ripen from pale green to creamy white
• Compact, bushy plants 60–75 cm (24–30 in) tall
• Sweet, slightly smoky flavour; pickled, used as a garnish or eaten raw

Sow warm: soil at 24–29 °C

Start the seed indoors 8–10 weeks before the last frost and keep the soil at 24–29 °C until seedlings appear. We have no species seed specification for Capsicum chinense yet, so this temperature comes from the variety notes for this item.

Planting out

Transplant once seedlings are established and frost has passed, 45–60 cm apart, in full sun and well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. Water regularly but avoid waterlogging, which leads to root disease.

When to expect fruit

Peppers mature about 80–100 days after transplanting.

What you get: 5 seeds per packet. Keep any seed you do not sow sealed, cool and dry. We have no tested storage life or germination percentage for this packet and do not state one.
