About golden onion seed
Golden onion seeds (VEG15) are supplied as the 50 seed packet listed in the current Deodar Price. The Price wording “Gold onion, Golden, Orange” is retained as the commercial market description. “Golden Onion” is not a botanical name; the proposed separate Scientific Name is Allium cepa, the accepted species for cultivated bulb onion.
Sowing
Onion timing depends strongly on local temperature and day length, so use regional guidance rather than a universal planting date. Start seed in a fine, freely draining medium or sow directly when local conditions are suitable. Cover lightly, keep the seedbed evenly moist without waterlogging and provide bright light after emergence.
Growing
Thin seedlings or transplant them with enough room for the intended bulb size. Maintain moderate fertility and steady moisture during active growth while keeping the soil freely drained. Reduce watering according to locally appropriate harvest practice as bulbs mature. Climate, day length, soil, seed storage and cultivation affect emergence, exterior colour, bulb size, maturity and keeping quality. No fixed germination percentage, colour uniformity, flavour or harvest performance is guaranteed.
Packet and storage
The packet contains 50 seeds at the current Price-backed USD amount, not the outdated 30-seed quantity in the archived copy. The old “Black Gold”, “Gouden Ui”, heirloom, premium-quality and excellent-germination claims are removed because Price and current sources do not support them. Store unused seed sealed, cool and dry. Licensed yellow-onion photographs may be used as reference_taxon images; none proves this exact lot.
