About this seed
Neelam Cluster Bean Seeds — Cyamopsis tetragonoloba
This packet contains 20 seeds of Neelam Cluster Bean, Cyamopsis tetragonoloba, also called guar. It is a warm-season annual legume grown for clusters of slender pods. Pod size, tenderness, plant height, and maturity vary with temperature, spacing, moisture, and harvest stage.
Sow directly after frost danger has passed and the soil is warm. Place seeds approximately 2–4 cm deep in a prepared bed with dependable drainage. Water gently and keep the seed zone evenly moist through emergence without leaving the soil saturated. Thin seedlings to provide light and airflow, and avoid disturbing the roots once plants are established.
Grow in full sun. Water during prolonged dry periods and while pods are developing, allowing excess moisture to drain. Avoid excessive nitrogen because legumes can produce too much foliage when heavily fed. Weed early while seedlings are small. In containers, choose a deep pot with drainage holes and check moisture more frequently than in an open bed.
For tender vegetable use, pick young pods regularly before they become fibrous. For seed saving, leave selected pods to mature and dry fully on healthy plants, then finish drying under cover before shelling. Keep saved seed from different plants together to represent the lot. Close the original packet after sowing and store unused seed labelled, cool, dry, dark, and protected from insects and humidity.
