About this seed
Chitra Rajma Bean Seeds — Phaseolus vulgaris
Choose a packet of 10 or 30 seeds of Phaseolus vulgaris, the cultivated common bean. This lot is sold as Chitra rajma or pinto-type bean. The name and seed pattern identify the offered lot, while climbing habit, maturity, pod set and harvested seed appearance may vary with genetics and growing conditions. Seeds are supplied for planting; no plants are included.
Sowing
Sow directly after frost danger has passed and the soil is reliably warm. Choose a sunny, well-drained bed and place seeds about 2–4 cm deep. Space them for light and airflow, water after sowing and maintain even moisture during establishment without saturating the ground. Avoid cold or persistently wet soil. Add a trellis or other support if the plants develop a climbing habit.
Care
Keep young rows free from competing weeds and water during dry periods, particularly around flowering and early pod development. Avoid unnecessary handling of wet foliage. Temperature and season length affect maturity, and no fixed harvest date or yield is promised.
Storage
Keep unused sowing seed labelled and sealed in a cool, dry, dark place, protected from humidity, heat and storage pests.
