Roshni Bean Seeds — Phaseolus vulgaris

This packet contains 10 seeds of the bean selection sold as Roshni. Seeds raised from an agricultural selection can show some natural variation, so this description does not promise a particular commercial grade or harvest date. Seeds only are supplied.

Sow directly after frost danger has passed and the soil has warmed. Place seeds about 2–4 cm deep in fertile, well-drained ground, spacing them so air can move between mature plants. Beans dislike root disturbance, so direct sowing is preferable to holding seedlings in pots. Keep the soil evenly moist during emergence without making it waterlogged.

Grow in full sun. Water at soil level during dry weather, especially when flowers and pods are forming, and avoid working among wet leaves. Pick green pods while they are smooth and tender; regular picking encourages the plant to continue flowering.

Cook fresh pods thoroughly before eating and do not consume planting seed raw. Close the packet after sowing and keep unused seeds labelled in a cool, dry, dark place protected from moisture and heat.
